$1,602,497 IN CONSOLIDATED FUNDING AWARDS

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services grant funding in the amount of $1,602,497 was secured in the Sixth Round of the NYS Consolidated Funding Application – Regional Economic Development Council Initiative.

Individual Client Awards:

Town of Somers was awarded $847,500 for Lake Shenorock Stormwater Improvement Project through the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation – WQIP.

Village of Albion was awarded $499,605 to Rebuild Bullard Park through the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation.

Town of Macedon was awarded $191,862 for Village Dissolution Implementation through the NYS Department of State.

Village of Lancaster was awarded $40,000 to complete an Updated Strategic Plan for the Central Business District through Empire State Development.

Explore & More Children’s Museum was awarded $23,500 for Erie Canal Programming through the NYS Council on the Arts.

Village of Albion Awarded $75K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc.is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Albion was awarded $75,000 to address “Zombie” and vacant properties. The goal of this project is to better inform homeowners of, and direct them to, supportive service options available in the community, while increasing capacity and developing sustainable programs to address housing vacancy and blight.

This funding was secured through the Local Initiatives Support Corporation – “Zombie” and Vacant Properties Remediation and Prevention Initiative.

Village of Spring Valley Awarded $100K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Spring Valley was awarded $100,000 for street re-paving in support of their Street Improvements Program.

This funding was secured through the Rockland County Community Development Block Grant Program.

Village of Lancaster Awarded $100K

March 23, 2015

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Lancaster was awarded $100,000 to replace approximately 640 linear feet of sewer line under Brady Avenue between Cambria Street and Central Avenue.

This funding was secured through the Erie County Consortium 2015 Community Development Block Grant Program.

Explore & More Children’s Museum Awarded $1.7 Million

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services Explore & More Children’s Museum was recommended to receive $1,700,000 toward making the new 40,000 square foot Explore & More Children’s Museum planned for the Canalside area in Buffalo a reality.

This funding was secured through the New York Power Authority – WNY Power Proceeds Allocation Board.  

Town of Seneca Falls Awarded $36K

O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Town of Seneca Falls was awarded $36,000 to undertake a Downtown Seneca Falls Parking Improvement Study.  This study will conduct an inventory of available parking in the core of the former Village of Seneca Falls, identify associated issues and concerns, and develop recommendations to improve safety and accessibility for tourists, residents, and workers. 

This funding was secured through the Genesee Transportation Council – Unified Planning Work Program.

Village of Lancaster Awarded $323K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Lancaster was awarded $323,700 for their West Main Street Reconstruction Project.  The work done as part of this Project will be in accordance with the ‘Village’s Revitalization Strategy’ and will allow the Village to rebuild and recreate their critical business district while also reclaiming and preserving historically important buildings.  Funding will provide improved walkability, new amenities, and a new streetscape that will reflect Lancaster’s historic character and bring people into the Village for work, shopping and recreation.

This award is the first from Erie County’s Smart Growth Fund, a key initiative included in County Executive Mark Poloncarz’s Initiatives for a Smart Economy and which advances Smart Growth principles by concentrating development, preserving and reviving main streets and historic districts, and reinvesting in established areas.

$365,776 Awarded in NYS Consolidated Funding Applications

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services grant funding in the amount of $365,776 was secured in the third round of the in NYS Consolidated Funding Application – Regional Economic Development Council Initiative.

 Awards through the services of J. O’Connell & Associates include:

The Village of Brockport was awarded $200,000 for a Main Street Revitalization Project to assist the owners of mixed-use buildings to complete renovations.  The proposed projects include restoration of weathered, crumbling facades; new roofs, windows, doors, and awnings; and residential improvements. Streetscape improvements will include the placement of attractive Victorian-style cast iron trash receptacles.

This funding was secured through New York State Office of Community Renewal – New York Main Street Program.

 

The Village of Lancaster was awarded $100,000 to implement the Downtown Lancaster Revitalization Program (DLRP), a façade, building renovation, and streetscape enhancement program in the Village’s Historic Preservation District.  Proposed projects in this program involve critical repairs necessary to sustain these historic structures and prevent them from deteriorating further, including: new roofs, brick work, window restoration, painting, signage and façade improvements.                               

This funding was secured through New York State Office of Community Renewal – New York Main Street Program.

 

The Village of Holley was awarded $65,776 for the Holley Canal Park Improvement Project.  Canal Park is a 48-acre municipal park established in 2001 which is heavily used by residents, boaters, bicyclists, and visitors to Holley’s annual events.  Project activities include improvements to the gazebo, pavilions, stone paths, as well as tree planting, installation of grills and picnic tables, fire pits, and purchase of equipment to maintain Canal Park. 

This funding was secured through the New York State Canal Corporation.

Town of Hamlin Awarded $466K

O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Town of Hamlin was awarded $466,000 for construction of a new 6,000 square foot library.   Located in the center of town, this new facility will nearly double the library’s present size, allowing for increased circulation, greater accessibility, and the ability of the library to provide additional services. 

This funding was secured through the New York State Education Department – Library Construction Grant.
