Village of Brockport Awarded $2K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Brockport was awarded $2,500 in Cleaner, Greener Communities Category 1 funds for adopting the NYS Unified Solar Permit.

This funding was secured through the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA).

Urban Forestry Grants Total $26K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the following clients received grant funding through the Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program:

Village of Bath – $3,275 to conduct a Community Tree Planting Project planting 30 trees;

Village of Bergen – $5,355 to conduct a computerized, comprehensive Tree Inventory of the Village;

Village of Brockport – $6,900 to develop a Tree Management Plan;

Village of Brockport – $10,820 to conduct a Community Tree Planting Project planting 79 trees.

This funding was secured through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation – Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program.

Town of Clarkson Awarded $9K

O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Town of Clarkson was awarded $9,240 for partial reimbursement of a Wood/Brush Chipper purchased solely for recycling purposes.  The use of this chipper has significantly improved the efficiency of the Town’s brush collection and recycling operations.

This funding was secured through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation – Municipal Waste Reduction and Recycling Program.

Riviera Theatre Awarded $350K

O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services The Riviera Theatre was awarded $350,000 to demolish a former auto repair shop located behind the Webster Street theater. The demolition and cleanup of the lot is a major step toward plans to enlarge the historic Riviera theatre.

Village of Bath Awarded $11K

O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services The Village of Bath was awarded $11,240 for its Tree Maintenance Project.  This project will focus on the pruning and maintenance of trees located in the 44.04 miles of public right-of-ways and public parks.  This is a priority for the Village of Bath, to preserve healthy community forests, enhance the quality of life for residents/visitors, and to provide economic benefits as identified in the Village’s Tree Inventory, Tree Management Plan, the Village Planning Board’s Comprehensive Plan, and the Steuben County Economic Development Plan.

This funding was secured through New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Urban and Community Forestry Program.

Town of Clarkson Awarded $8K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Town of Clarkson was awarded $8,500 to implement Phase I of their Urban Forestry Plan which was developed last year in collaboration with Forester, Andrew Pleninger.  The project will involve planting of 50 street trees in several underserved areas of the Town. The trees will provide needed shade to Town streets, sidewalks, and buildings along with improving the aesthetic appearance of the street and neighborhood.

This funding was secured through New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Urban and Community Forestry Program.

Village of Holley Awarded $67K

This funding was secured through the New York State Departments of State and Environmental Conservation – Brownfield Opportunity Areas (BOA) Program.

Village of Corfu – Village of Corfu WWTP – Comprehensive Performance Upgrade: $1,168,710

Town of Pembroke – Town of Pembroke Sewer District No. 1: $2,520,000

Funding was secured through the NYS DEC Water Quality Improvement Program (WQIP), a competitive program within the State’s Environmental Protection Fund. Eligible projects include municipal wastewater treatment; municipal separate storm sewer systems; non-agricultural, non-point source abatement and control; aquatic habitat restoration; and water quality management. Depending on the project, recipients can be reimbursed for up to 85 percent of the total cost.
