J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Brockport was awarded $11,000 for restoration of the Seth Thomas Clock Tower donated to the Village by the Monroe Chapter of the DAR in 1914.

This funding was secured through the Rochester Area Community Foundation.

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Brockport was awarded $6,500 to undertake an Intensive Level Historic Resources Survey of properties on the Village’s west side, to submit, for State/National Registers listing, any historic district identified in this area.

This funding was secured through the NYS Office of Parks Recreation & Historic Preservation.

Town/Village of East Rochester Awarded $1,500

$1,148,237 in Consolidated Funding Awards

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services grant funding in the amount of $1,148,237 was secured in the NYS Consolidated Funding Application – Regional Economic Development Council Initiative.

Client Awards:

Town of Urbana was awarded $410,000 for Phase I Redevelopment of Champlin Beach through Empire State Development.

Town of Somerset was awarded a $225,000 Local Government Efficiency Grant through the NYS Department of State.

Buffalo Religious Arts Center was awarded $202,237 for Historic Preservation of Former Church Building through the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation.

Village of Lancaster was awarded $100,000 for a Sanitary Sewer Overflow Engineering Study through the DEC/EFC Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering Planning Grant Program.

Village of Sloan was awarded $100,000 for a Sanitary Sewer Overflow Engineering Study through the DEC/EFC Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering Planning Grant Program.

Village of Brockport was awarded $75,000 for Phase I of the Brockport Rowing and Canal Development Project through the NYS Canal Corporation

Orleans County was awarded a $36,000 Local Government Efficiency Grant through the NYS Department of State.

The collection is housed in the Emily L. Knapp Museum and Library of Local History.

Village of Lancaster Awarded $323K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Lancaster was awarded $323,700 for their West Main Street Reconstruction Project.  The work done as part of this Project will be in accordance with the ‘Village’s Revitalization Strategy’ and will allow the Village to rebuild and recreate their critical business district while also reclaiming and preserving historically important buildings.  Funding will provide improved walkability, new amenities, and a new streetscape that will reflect Lancaster’s historic character and bring people into the Village for work, shopping and recreation.

This award is the first from Erie County’s Smart Growth Fund, a key initiative included in County Executive Mark Poloncarz’s Initiatives for a Smart Economy and which advances Smart Growth principles by concentrating development, preserving and reviving main streets and historic districts, and reinvesting in established areas.

O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Buffalo Religious Arts Center was awarded $3,750 to help with their Informational Book Project.  Much of the art and iconography that the Buffalo Religious Arts Center seeks to preserve is tied to the story of immigrants that came to the Buffalo area with a rich heritage of traditions from their own backgrounds.

This funding was secured through the M&T Charitable Foundation.
