Fisherman’s Landing

Located on a Town-owned site on the Niagara River and immediately south of the South Grand Island Bridge, this site once held a sanitary sewer station, sediment tanks and an abandoned digester, and was closed to the general public.

Rehabilitation of this site, which meets the goals and visions of the Niagara River Greenway Plan and is an integral part of the Town of Grand Island’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP), has created an all-accessible park highlighting the natural beauty of the Niagara River and enhancing the visual environment of the Town of Grand Island.

Fisherman’s Landing provides residents and visitors with a waterfront recreational outlet for fishermen, bird-watching opportunities, a scenic view of the Niagara River and a stopover and relaxing location for hikers, joggers and bicyclists traveling to destinations on Grand Island.  It was awarded the statewide 2012 Structures and Facilities Award from the American Public Works Association.
