New York State Archives LGRMIF Awards

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the following clients received grant funding through the New York State Archives – Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund (LGRMIF) Program:
Village of Albion ~ $21,908 to inventory building records;
Village of Depew ~ $30,085 to inventory building records;
Town of Orchard Park ~ $65,693 to inventory police records.
Town of Tonawanda Awarded $100K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Town of Tonawanda was awarded a $100,000 Engineering Planning Grant. They will conduct a Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey within a project area that will be the focus of future rehabilitation.
This funding was secured through the NYS DEC – Environmental Facilities Corporation.
Village of Albion Awarded $338,192

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Albion was awarded a $388,192 Main Street Grant. Ten properties containing both commercial and residential units in the Village’s North Main-Bank Street Historic District will be assisted.
This funding was secured through the NY State Office of Community Renewal.
Village of Depew Awarded $164K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Depew was awarded $164,980 for improvements to West Dawson Park Playground.
This funding was secured through the Erie County Community Development Block Grant Program.
Village of Depew Awarded $64K
February 28, 2020
J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Depew was awarded $64,000 for two traffic safety improvements on George Urban Boulevard. A TAPCO Solar Overheight Warning System will be installed at a railroad bridge crossing the Boulevard with a vertical under-clearance of 11’-9”. This bridge has sustained numerous collisions over the years with trucks exceeding that height. The second improvement is a solar-powered school zone speed limit warning system in front of the Cantalician Center Campus to alert drivers to the reduced-speed zone area.
This funding was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Program and Senator Tim Kennedy.
Town of Orchard Park Awarded $45K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Town of Orchard Park was awarded $45,000 for a Sewer District Consolidation Study. This is the initial step in consolidating the Town’s twenty-three sewer districts into one.
This funding was secured through the NYS Department of State – Local Citizens Reorganization Empowerment Grant Program.
Village of Brockport Awarded $140,000

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Brockport was awarded $140,000 to make improvements to its existing Welcome Center located on the Erie Canalway at 11 Water Street. The Village will build a permanent 30′ x 20′ electrically-equipped pavilion for performances and gatherings at the Canal front, additional lighting and signage. They will also purchase and install a BoardSafe adaptive dock and launch which will enable those in wheelchairs to independently launch a kayak.
This funding was secured through the NYS Canal Corporation.
Village of Depew Awarded $99,375

O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Depew received $99,375 to replace 1,960 linear feet of deteriorating sidewalks thereby eliminating safety hazards. The Village of Depew is committed to make its neighborhood more livable by ensuring that people can get safely where they need to go via an updated sidewalk network.
This funding was secured through the Erie County CDBG Program.
Bread of Life Outreach Center Awarded $100,000

O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Town of Colden, Bread of Life Outreach Center was awarded $100,000 to make improvements to their Food Pantry, including new electrical upgrades, replacement of refrigerators/freezers, furnace, and roof, new back-up power generator and demolition of the building next door to allow for food pantry expansion.
This funding was secured through the Erie County CDBG Program.
Medaille College Awarded $1 Million HEcap Grant

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services Medaille College was awarded a $1 Million HEcap grant toward their Baseball/Softball Fields Construction Project. This project includes the purchase and installation of 2.73 acres of turf, lights, netting and fencing, two press boxes and two scoreboards. In addition to being used for baseball and softball, these fields will also be lined for two soccer fields. This facility will enable the college to maximize varsity sports rosters, develop junior varsity teams and create intramural sports and recreational opportunities which are currently not available.
This funding was secured through the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York.
