O’Connell & Associates, Inc.is pleased to announce that through our services the Cattaraugus-Little Valley CSD was awarded $3,000 in support of the 2020 Reading Buddy Book Boxes outreach program for emergent first graders. Students will each receive customized book boxes with appropriate-level reading texts, enrichment activities for independent and family-supported learning, “reading buddy” stuffed animals, and a personal message to the student. This program was developed to neutralize the documented summer reading loss between Kindergarten and First grade.
This funding was secured through the Dollar General Youth Literacy Program.

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services Medaille College was awarded a $1 Million HEcap grant toward their Baseball/Softball Fields Construction Project. This project includes the purchase and installation of 2.73 acres of turf, lights, netting and fencing, two press boxes and two scoreboards. In addition to being used for baseball and softball, these fields will also be lined for two soccer fields. This facility will enable the college to maximize varsity sports rosters, develop junior varsity teams and create intramural sports and recreational opportunities which are currently not available.
This funding was secured through the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York.

The mission of this project is to literally “plant the seeds” of garden knowledge for the next generation while encouraging literacy skills at the same time.
