Cattaraugus-Little Valley CSD Awarded $3,000

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc.is pleased to announce that through our services the Cattaraugus-Little Valley CSD was awarded $3,000 in support of the 2020 Reading Buddy Book Boxes outreach program for emergent first graders. Students will each receive customized book boxes with appropriate-level reading texts, enrichment activities for independent and family-supported learning, “reading buddy” stuffed animals, and a personal message to the student. This program was developed to neutralize the documented summer reading loss between Kindergarten and First grade.
This funding was secured through the Dollar General Youth Literacy Program.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley CSD Awarded $1,750

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Cattaraugus-Little Valley CSD was awarded $1,750 to expand a student run Clothing Closet staffed by volunteer business students taking part in a college-credit leadership course.
This funding was secured through the Walmart Foundation Community Grant Program.
Medaille College Awarded $1 Million HEcap Grant

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services Medaille College was awarded a $1 Million HEcap grant toward their Baseball/Softball Fields Construction Project. This project includes the purchase and installation of 2.73 acres of turf, lights, netting and fencing, two press boxes and two scoreboards. In addition to being used for baseball and softball, these fields will also be lined for two soccer fields. This facility will enable the college to maximize varsity sports rosters, develop junior varsity teams and create intramural sports and recreational opportunities which are currently not available.
This funding was secured through the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley CSD Awarded $14K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Cattaraugus-Little Valley CSD received two Equipment Assistance grants – $9,629 to purchase a radiant oven and $5,142 to purchase a pasta cooker for their school lunch program.
This funding was secured through the USDA Food and Nutrition Service – National School Lunch Program Equipment Assistance Grants.
Franklinville CSD Awarded $2K

This funding was secured through the Whole Kids Foundation – School Garden Grant program.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley CSD Awarded $500

O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services Cattaraugus-Little Valley CSD was awarded $500 to purchase vegetable and flower seeds to cultivate a “Literacy Garden”. The mission of this project is to literally “plant the seeds” of garden knowledge for the next generation while encouraging literacy skills at the same time.
This funding was secured through the Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation and Kids Gardening – Scotts Gro More Gardens Grant.

Franklinville CSD Awarded $67K
December 19, 2018
J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Franklinville CSD was awarded $67,055 to partner with the Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Cattaraugus County to hire a Farm-to-School (F2S) Coordinator for two years to increase procurement of NYS produce from local farmers and distributors.
This funding was secured through the NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets – Farm-to-School Grant.
