O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Village of Brockport was awarded $14,000 to support a National Register of Historic Places District Nomination of approximately 270 properties located on the west side of the Village. The purpose is to preserve the historic, architectural and cultural integrity of the historical area and protect it from insensitive or destructive rehabilitation in the future. Properties in the proposed area date from mid- 1800’s to the early 1900’s.
This funding was secured through the NYS Office of Parks Recreation & Historic Preservation – Certified Local Government Program.

O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Town of Somers was awarded a $3,000 Technical Assistance Grant to conduct a building condition survey of the Elephant Hotel. This Federal style building, constructed in the early 1820’s, is designated as a National Historic Landmark and is currently occupied by the Somers Town Hall on the first two floors, and the Somers Historical Society on the third floor.
