Town/Village of East Rochester Awarded $30K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services the Town/Village of East Rochester was awarded $30,000 for Phase I construction costs to relocate the Town Court to the historic Eyer Building. 

This funding was secured through the 2012 NYS Justice Court Assistance Program (JCAP) Grant, providing for improvements of courts through a variety of projects: office and security equipment, furniture improvements and renovations.

Niagara County Awarded $146K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that through our services Niagara County was awarded $146,300 to provide a Niagara County Probation Reentry Task Force to engage high-risk ex-offenders treatment, programming and supervision strategies that reduce the risk of recidivism.

This funding was secured through the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Service.

Village of Spring Valley Awarded $156K

J. O’Connell & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce through our services the Village of Spring Valley has been awarded an additional $156,642 to continue the Village of Spring Valley Weed and Seed Program. (previous award in 2009 was $100,000).

This funding was secured through the U.S. Department of Justice Weed and Seed program. Funding is intended to first weed out crime – particularly drug-related or violent offenses – and then seed the community with programs to encourage gang prevention and the development of youth services and community restoration.

Village of Spring Valley Awarded $100K

O’Connell & Associates is pleased to announce through our services that the Village of Spring Valley has been awarded $100,000 the first year and increasing sums in three subsequent years to fight crime, close nuisance bars and encourage collaborative law enforcement, while building trust with the community.

This funding was secured through the U.S. Department of Justice Weed and Seed program. Funding is intended to first weed out crime – particularly drug-related or violent offenses – and then seed the community with programs to encourage gang prevention and the development of youth services and community restoration. Spring Valley was 1 of only 15 new Weed & Seed sites designated this year.

Niagara County Awarded $187K

J. O’Connell & Associates is pleased to announce through our services that Niagara County has been awarded $187,112 for the continuation of the Local Reentry Task Force Initiative. The Reentry program goal is to reduce recidivism in local jurisdictions and increase public safety through coordination and collaboration among local criminal justice, social services, educational, health and mental health systems.

This funding was secured through the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.

This funding was secured through the United States Justice Department’s Office of Community Oriented Policing (COPS).
